Getting Down to the Wire

Hi there! I'm still here but I don't have much time to post anything right now. The Lavender Festival is less than 2 weeks away and I'm painting as much as possible!

I planned on using pairs of old shutters hinged at the top as easels for my artwork, but I only have one pair so far. If anyone is near Rugby, TN and has some wooden shutters to get rid of, please contact me. Thanks!

I'll check back in later this week. :)

  1. I bet you are busy! I don't know if we're going to the festival or not, but I appreciated the reminder the other day. I said something to Mr. Jim and he said "harumph" or something to that effect, LOL. So we'll see! Perhaps I can ring up a girlfriend and come over for a visit instead.

Have you considered using pegboard for a display? There are constructed displays available that might be in your budget, such as this one. http://www.staples.com/Wood-Framed-4-Panel-Pegboard-Display/product_721788?cid=PS:GooglePLAs:721788&KPID=721788

    1. LOL! Mr. Jim and Roger sound so much alike!
I didn't realize Staples had something like that! That very well may be what I end up going with. Thank you so much for the link, Donna! :)

  2. Lana, your paintings are Sooo Pretty! So sweet and colorful. Love the poppies!
In response to your aching joints, I gave up gluten last October, and within 2 weeks my arthritis pain went away. My hands were getting so debilitated, I despaired of doing any more crafting, but now they don't hurt unless I splurge on the gluten or have too much sugar. Eliminating either one has helped me and maybe it can help you. Wouldn't it be nice if it is only a diet change? Of course we are all different-That's what makes us unique! Hope you feel better soon.
    Hugs, Sherry

    1. Thank you, Sherry! Thanks for the gluten and sugar tips. I've had a few others mention cutting back on gluten. We'll see how it goes. :)

  3. Totally enjoy reading about your "artist's life" and getting ready for festivals and shows. I have never done one but know it must be both exciting and nerve wracking at the same time!
