After several years, I finally have a website again! I plan on making Honeysuckle Lane live on October 1st. I’ll be moving a lot of items over from my Etsy shop, but I will keep a few things on Etsy just for the traffic and referrals.Similar to my first website from several years ago, this one will have several categories. I love to make quilts, but I also love to paint, and I’ll always do paper Lana Manishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03984967027046436970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146619123970612809.post-28280832999747918922022-08-30T08:52:00.007-05:002022-10-17T08:45:13.390-05:00Art for Sale at Honeysuckle Lane I have nearly every painting listed in my Honeysuckle Lane shop now! It was a lot of work, especially considering every once in a while my listing would totally disappear when it was almost ready to publish. I’ll be so glad when I get my own website again. But until then, if you’d like to shop my art just pop over here.Or… you can always email me about something you like and I can invoice Lana Manishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03984967027046436970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146619123970612809.post-69422092133645968422022-06-03T23:59:00.000-05:002022-06-03T23:59:22.876-05:00Getting Ready for the Lavender FestivalI've had to put quilt making on hold while I get ready for the Lavender Festival. It's June 18th in Oak Ridge, TN. It was cancelled the last two years due to covid, so I'm hoping this year will be a great one with everyone excited to get back to see all the vendors.I'm working on mostly 6x6 paintings, with a few slightly larger pieces.I'm also doing some paintings on watercolor paper. Welcome back to my art blog!Where have I been? My family has had a lot going on the last three years, so art and other handwork were put on hold for the most part while we focused on the most important things: the health and well-being of my little granddaughter during her cancer diagnosis, surgeries, treatments, and therapies. I never in a million years dreamed I would be writing a post like this. But I am, and I'm asking for your prayers. My little two-year-old granddaughter, Jolee, had a large brain tumor removed earlier this week. The biopsy confirmed that it was cancer, and chemo will begin when she has healed from the surgery.
Our family asks for your prayers...
for Jolee, for her mommy and daddy,

I've been adding new work to my shop, Honeysuckle Lane.

I've been painting more recently, getting ready for the Lavender Festival. I've used a variety of paints... Waverly craft paint, Valspar paint, and Liquitex and Golden artist acrylic paints and painted a variety of subjects.
Over the next several days, I'll share some of the paintings I've done. I finished a painting I started several days ago. I really like how it turned out, although there are a couple of things I see that I should have done differently. I think I got caught up in some of the things I wanted to make sure I did and I forgot to notice the overall painting. But, this Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days, which is hosted by Leslie Saeta, is for me to learn more and be more Lana Manishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03984967027046436970noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146619123970612809.post-26412163821925368902017-01-06T22:03:00.001-06:002017-01-07T07:26:58.092-06:00Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days - Day 6
I finished a small painting today. The last two I did were on canvas, and even though I've painted on hardboard lots of times before, it was a struggle to do this one, as simple as it is. I don't mean to sound negative, just being honest. I could see the painting in my mind, knew every stroke I wanted to make, but it wouldn't happen. I'm not sure if it was the switch from canvas to hardboard, Lana Manishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03984967027046436970noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146619123970612809.post-74714420511341300402017-01-05T20:06:00.000-06:002017-01-07T07:26:45.137-06:00Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days - Day 5
8"x 10", acrylic on canvas, palette knife
Okay, let me start off by saying I painted this on New Year's Eve. The reason I'm sharing this (again) for the 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge is because I feel guilty in joining it 5 days late... and I wanted to share something! :)
If you want to see more photos and read about it, just scroll back a couple of posts and you'll see it.
I'll do my Lana Manishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03984967027046436970noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146619123970612809.post-44094022158548362932017-01-02T19:16:00.001-06:002017-01-02T19:16:32.336-06:00And I'm Still Painting! Yay!
I've started on my lavender paintings... surely I'll have a good series of them by June for the Lavender Festival.
This one is 12" x 12" on canvas. I'll probably do some 6" x 6" sizes and I'll definitely do larger ones, too.... maybe 16" x 20" and 24" x 24".
This one isn't quite finished. I still have to tweak the barn roof before I sign it.
I'll be back at least once a week to share Lana Manishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03984967027046436970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146619123970612809.post-51291742903914879012016-12-31T23:23:00.000-06:002016-12-31T23:23:33.952-06:00A Little Country Church - Palette Knife Painting
I've started painting again... churches for now... and I hope to eventually paint barns with fields of lavender. I want to do several for the Lavender Festival in June next year.
I love the randomness of it all and the unexpected textures and colors that come from palette knife painting.
I think I have mentioned why I love old churches before, but here's why:

Hi everyone!
The Lavender Festival is over and I have listed several of the Remains of the Day items as I do each year afterwards. I was going to list
several other items, but they either sold out or are going to a shop
soon. These are the only new paintings on canvas that are left. I have shown three here to give you an idea of what you'll find.
We had gorgeous weather! It was a Lana Manishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03984967027046436970noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146619123970612809.post-85405317603135619072016-06-17T08:19:00.003-05:002016-06-17T08:20:37.133-05:00Lavender Festival - June 18th!
Hi everyone! I wanted to let you know I'll be in Oak Ridge, TN tomorrow at The Lavender Festival! It's located in the Jackson Square historic district. I've been doing this one for years..... all but the first year or two when it started. I'll have my artwork, block printed designs, and some folk art. Come see me! :)
You can find more information on the festival's website and their Facebook Lana Manishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03984967027046436970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146619123970612809.post-56472687668623749862015-10-12T09:07:00.000-05:002015-10-12T09:08:49.882-05:00Color & Whimsy
Since I am currently busy working on custom orders, I thought I'd share some of my favorite paintings and prints available in my Etsy shop, Lana Manis Designs.
All originals may be viewed and purchased in this section of my shop.
And prints may be viewed and purchased here.

I'm getting ready for Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days...
and in order to stay inspired, I decided to buy some really pretty colors.
I usually paint with only primary colors, along with white, burnt umber, and sometimes black...
mixing my own colors...
but I wanted to have fun and try something new!
The paints aren't expensive, but a girl's gotta work with what she can, and Lana Manishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03984967027046436970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146619123970612809.post-7742437940424348592015-08-21T10:42:00.003-05:002022-09-19T17:38:59.323-05:00Tidying Up Before 30 Paintings in 30 Days
Before I begin Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge, I figured I'd get a few dozen vintage velvet pumpkins made and listed in my Etsy shop. Now that I have that taken care of, I can put those things aside and clear off some space for paints, brushes, and canvases. :)
There are three sizes available, as well as a few sets of stacked pumpkins. If you'd like to see them, click Lana Manishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03984967027046436970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146619123970612809.post-9182504258311292015-07-13T20:19:00.000-05:002015-07-13T20:20:31.335-05:00Daily Paintworks, Again
Since I am ever hopeful that I can start painting on a regular or semi-regular basis, I have decided to re-join Daily Paintworks.
<!-- Begin DPW Gallery Widget v1.1 -->
<!-- End DPW Gallery Widget -->
My plan is to list my original art at DPW and sell my prints on Etsy until I have something more permanent, like my own e-commerce website.
Right now I am listing the few pieces Lana Manishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03984967027046436970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146619123970612809.post-22934894242703693052015-07-09T08:10:00.000-05:002015-07-09T08:10:22.152-05:00Honeysuckle Lane: The Sun Comes Up, the Sun Goes Down...

I've been carving even more designs for my note cards! I suppose since garden season is here and we've been doing a lot of outdoor chores, it only stands to reason that my recent designs have a nature theme... bee skeps, lavender, topiaries, and birds. You can see more of the process in my previous post.
My latest block print designs (seen above) were inspired by the work of Thomas Lana Manishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03984967027046436970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146619123970612809.post-87997959292226595802015-06-25T15:46:00.001-05:002015-06-25T15:46:44.378-05:00Pssst! New Art Prints Are Here!
Not a lot of time to chat, so I'll share a photo and a link and be back over the weekend.
I've got lots of new art prints in my Etsy shop
now. They sold really well at the Lavender Festival and I thank all of
you so much! These are whimsical, colorful prints and will brighten up
any decor... perfect for gifts, too!

I've been dyeing silk ribbons for my silk ribbon embroidered pillows that I will have at the Lavender Festival Saturday!
This year all pillows will be the same size. I ordered pillow forms so I wouldn't have to stuff each and every one. That's very time consuming, and I've been having trouble with my hands, so just popping in a pillow form should help a lot!
I'll share some photos ofLana Manishttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03984967027046436970noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-146619123970612809.post-86015780682393614142015-06-09T11:23:00.000-05:002017-08-06T21:34:55.569-05:00New Original Lavender Paintings!!!
